    Great work and I'm getting tools to do this DIY in my new home, Thailand. The Holy Grail of home-built camera holding systems would be to somehow add shock absorbers. You are getting vibrations on your footage because all vehicles... cars, morotcycles, scooters, and bicycles vibrate as they hit bumps in the road. There are small shock absorbers made for RC cars and there are rubber-band type nests made for holding microphones. I wish I could figure out hown to integrate them in camera holders. I'm building a prototype that has a vertical pcv pipe with a monopod inside and the monopod is sitting on a tall foam pad placed at the bottom of the pvc pipe. My idea is a little crude, but it does partially reduce vibration to the camera.

    You should do the last stopper double height.

  • @angusmurray3767
    @angusmurray3767 4 дня назад

    I would make the forward part of the ramps a little longer to allow double the thickness of the end stop. You made the point that the car can easily climb 1.5" of wood and so a thicker end stop would be safer. If you made the boards a bit wider, the centre of each forward part could contain a bottle jack with a 1/4 inch steel plate welded to the top of the ram and resting on the wood. Operating the bottle jacks would then give another 6" of lift. The area around where the operating handle would fit, would need to be braced with a 1/8" steel plate with central hole.

    Great video. Adding an addition to a house which has an existing French drain system. Thie existing system has performed for over 24 years with no water in the basement ever. The house is built on a slope btw in a watershed area. Engineer and the contractor for the new addition wanted me to install gutters. No way! I have never had standing water and the drains flow out very slowly as they should. I am having French drains tied into the existing system for the addition. This video is the real deal. This guy is spot on.

    Pretty cool but, there is a part of me that wants more than a 2" back stop that's actually just 1.5", if the car gets a little too much momentum while feathering the gas peddle up the ramp. A true 3 inches would make me feel much better. Maybe one might treat the wood to protect it if it's stored outside. Occasionally brush used motor oil treatment might work, especially on the ends and or parts that touch the ground. An old tire cut and screwed to the top boads of the ramps for a traction surface would add a nice touch. This is probably not needed if you dont treat it with used motor oil. 😂 Forget using a hinge, and simply hook both sides. Four pieces weigh less than two And you never risk binding when swinging on a hinge.

    I bought this kit years ago from Amazon. The actual workbench itself is very sturdy, but there was just too little clearance on the lower storage shelves to make it a viable option for me. As for the bench TOP storage shelves, I have no idea what they were thinking. I e-mailed Fleximounts asking for some guidance as to what in the world one was suppose to do about the lumber for the bench TOP storage shelves. I don't think they understood what I was asking. They said they would consult with R&D and get back to me with an answer. That was three years ago. HA!
